About Baby Signing

Imagine if your baby could communicate their needs so they don't need to get frustrated and cry and you don't have to guess what they want. Your baby could tell you when he is hungry, wants more, or is all done. If he is too cold or too hot or that he just needs a hug.

The good news is that your baby's motor skills are sufficiently developed to make simple gestures as early as 6 months.  This enables them to bridge the communication gap and show you what they need.

Baby signing is a wonderful baby led approach that helps you to connect and understand each other from a very early age helping you both avoid unnecessary confusion and frustration.

Little Signers Club Dubai classes are truly unique in their structure and ability to adapt to the changing needs of a group. Small people and their needs take no heed of our schedules; we also know that a new environment might be unsettling at first. You are always welcome to support your little one however you need to during class  – feeding, pacing, changing, rocking, sleeping or supporting those first wobbly steps that need to be practiced right now! A gentle rhythm underpins all of our baby and toddler signing sessions; this provides little ones with a structure that they can anticipate and feel comfortable to join in with. We know that older babies and toddlers need to move around – and that they will engage with the class, taking it in, no matter how inattentive they may seem to you at the time.

Babysigning is not a competition. It is a beautiful, gentle way to engage with your little one.  Signing leads to respectful, responsive interactions between adults and children – where children know they matter and that their communication attempts are recognised and important.   Our focus is on signing and communication, bonding and attachment, responsive and respectful care, life skills and core competencies.

The Classes

Baby Signing Basics  is our fun, informative starter course to baby signing which has proven very popular for many thousands of families. Covering key topics and signs, each session of the Baby Signing Basics course is around 45 minutes long. This course gently guides you through your baby’s development, tips, what to do and what to look for as well as being great fun! By the time you finish, you will be confident in your ability to use simple signs with your baby, know exactly what to expect from your baby as they start to sign and take them through their signing day.  These classes are suitable from 4 months through 1 year.

Little Signers Club Sing, Sign and Rhyme  sessions are lively, informal classes which are ideal for little ones of all ages. Come along and join the fun! - either as a follow on from our popular baby signing basics course which you may have already attended, or as an introduction to getting started with signing with your little one.  Based around an engaging theme each week, there is plenty of singing, signing and popular rhymes to gently engage your baby or toddler and social time for parents too.

               Not just for babies!

I'm learning a new skill too....

We’ve been going along to the sessions for four weeks now and it’s been a really good experience. Each class is very well structured, focusing on a different topic area each week (e.g. food and drink, going to the doctors, animals) and using songs, rhymes and stories to help cement the signs in your head and engage the little ones. Katie has really thought about the number of mums and tots allowed in each class, meaning that we’re in with a small group of likeminded people who all have babies around the same age as Maddie which has been great for socialising. The classes aren’t just for her – I’m learning a new skill which is encouraging me to use my brain (important when sometimes the most challenging thing you deal with on a daily basis as a stay at home mum is separating the whites from the

coloureds for a wash).
